PruébaT presented in Colombia with the support of Carlos Slim Foundation
The educational platform PruébaT was presented in Colombia at the premises of the Technical-Industrial Educational Institution (Institución Educativa Técnico Industrial, IETI) Commune 17.
The Selección Colombia PISA Fuerte (Colombian Selection Make Your Mark) is the name of the strategy that the Ministry of National Education has created to encourage participation of students who will represent Colombia in the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), which will be held in May 2018.
During the presentation, the Minister of National Education, Yaneth Giha Tovar, invited young students to recognize and strengthen their skills in the areas of math, language and science, using the innovative and dynamic PruébaT platform.
PruébaT was used for the first time in Colombia, in 2015, with the support of Carlos Slim Foundation and Claro por Colombia.
Due to the effectiveness of this educational tool in strengthening of skills and familiarity with standardized tests, for the second time it has been considered by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia to be part of its strategy to familiarize teachers and students with PISA.
PISA, of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), is carried out every three years with the purpose that participating countries identify their progress in improving the quality of education, through the implementation of a digital test to 15 year olds who are about to conclude their compulsory education.
The results of this evaluation allow countries to make decisions on education policy.
With actions like this, Carlos Slim Foundation reaffirms its commitment to education, promoting educational tools at no cost to help Latin American students and teachers to strengthen their skills and improve their quality of life.
