Racing for Education at the Nascar Peak Mexico Series
During the first date of the Nascar Series in Mexico, the TELMEX/TELCEL Foundation started the 2018 edition of its “Racing for Education” program, through which social support to people with limited resources is provided.
The first supports given were 10 scholarships for Bachelor, Master and Doctorate level to students of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León. In addition, the municipalities of Santa Catarina, Pesquería and Monterrey received 20 computers and 20 printers.
Through a statement, the TELMEX/TELCEL Foundation, said that these actions are aimed at the integral development of the inhabitants of the State of Nuevo León, where they have delivered a total of 7,829 scholarships to undergraduate, master and doctoral students.
On the other hand, the 2018 campaigns Ayúdame a Llegar (Help me to arrive) and Pilotos por la Seguridad Vial (Drivers for Road Safety) programs began.
“The Foundation operates its Ayúdame a Llegar program in Nuevo León , which consists of handing out bicycles to students who must travel several kilometers daily to reach their classrooms, benefiting 6,429 children and adolescents of the state,” said the Foundation.
Likewise, the Ministry of Social Development of Nuevo León and the municipality of Cadereyta will receive 30 wheelchairs, with which the foundation has donated a total of 1,995 wheelchairs.
The Drivers for Road Safety program is carried out in coordination with the Carlos Slim Foundation, with 17 conferences being held at Higher Education Institutions in Nuevo León, in which 4,399 students participated, who are invited to be part of a new road culture that allows save lives.
