5th Day of Integral Health in the Pensiles neighborhoods

The Foundation of the Historic Center of Mexico City carried out the 5th Day of Integral Health in the Pensiles neighborhoods, with the theme: For me and my community.

This year almost 2 thousand people have registered to receive health services, and each person receives an average of three to five services. During the Day of Integral Health, different health services are offered including dental care, optometric services, and timely detection of diabetes, hypertension and obesity, among other services.

This is the first time that other social programs of the Carlos Slim Foundation –such as the Soumaya Museum, Initial Education, Telmex Sports Foundation and the Digital Library (already installed in the Pensiles)– have joined efforts with the Day of Integral Health.

This initiative has carried out for five years thanks to the alliance with various institutions, such as the Sanitary Jurisdiction of the Miguel Hidalgo Delegation, which provided the screening tests for child cancer; and the Center for Care of Alcoholics and their Relatives (CAAF), which performed a screening on levels of depression associated with the consumption of psychoactive substances.

As every year, the event also had the participation of the Faculty of Dentistry of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Faculty of Optometry of the UNAM’s Faculty of Higher Studies – Iztacala, the Youth Light and Hope Group (Grupo Juventud Luz y Esperanza), and the Carlos Slim Foundation with its social programs and the Integrated Measurement for Timely Detection (Medición Integrada para la Detección Oportuna, MIDO).

The Community Development Program of the Foundation of the Historic Center of Mexico City is in charge of the Day of Integral Health, and thanks to the operators of this program and the TELMEX Foundation; it receives the support of 15 volunteers, and a team of more than 30 people in charge of logistics, communication and evaluation of the results at the end of the week.

All the people of the community of the Pensiles neighborhoods are invited, from children to seniors, men and women. The 5th Day of Integral Health was held from July 31 to August 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Lago Chairel no. 320, Col. Pensil.
