In the\nframework of the workgroups set-up between the Ministry of Health and Social\nProtection of Colombia and the Carlos Slim Foundation, a delegation of\nColombian specialists in the field of health and technology visited Mexico City\nand Pachuca to discover more about the workings of the Electronic Vaccination\nCard (CEV), and share their experience in the use and application of the\nNominal Information System of the Extended Immunization Program (PAI WEB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During\ntheir visit, they discussed best practices and shared experiences so as to\nenrich the CEV and PAI WEB platforms, with the aim of jointly developing a\ndigital system that can be offered to countries that do not have this type of\nplatform, in favor of their populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the city\nof Pachuca, the visited the Jesus del Rosal Health Center, to discover the\noperation in the field of the Electronic Vaccination Card and observe the work\nof the community vaccination brigades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At present\na group of Andean countries, led by Colombia, are working on the development\nand implementation of a Unified Vaccination Card so as to be able to closely\nfollow-up the vaccination programs of the migrant population who move around\nthe region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For its\npart, the Carlos Slim Foundation will help with the digitalization of this\nsystem so that the digital version of the Unified Vaccination Card can be\nlaunched in the first quarter of 2020, which will be launched in physical form\nas of October 15, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\ndelegation from the Colombian Ministry of Health was formed by Dr. Aida Milena\nGutierrez, Promotion and Prevention Director; Brigitte Neffer Forest Duque, Integrated\nVaccine-preventable Illnesses Management Group Coordinator; and Maria del Pilar\nMatallana and Diana Yazmin Angarita from the Information Technology and\nCommunication Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Electronic\nVaccination Card<\/strong> has the purpose of increasing the coverage, effective\naccess to and the quality of health services and, at the same time, more\nefficiently using the installed infrastructure and the resources allocated to\nhealth in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
