The\nCarlos Slim Foundation<\/strong> presented the Exhibition \u201c20 Centuries of Art in\nMexico\u201d<\/em><\/strong> in the Soumaya Museum<\/strong>, which provides a summary of\nour national identity through the different artistic and historic stages, from\nMesoamerica up to the Avant-Gardes of the 20th<\/sup> Century. The\nexhibition includes a total of 1,521 works, showing original aesthetic\nlanguages, as well as visual and traditional poems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the\nfirst time, works by Alfredo Ramos Martinez, Rufino Tamayo, Roberto Montenegro and\nFrancisco Toledo are on shown, the latter as homage to his recent death with\nthe inclusion of 5 pieces that delve into the technical exploration of the maestro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20 Centuries\nof Art in Mexico<\/em><\/strong> is\na pictorial portrait of the landscape and history of Mexico, principally\nhighlighting the Baroque, its documents, numismatics, landscape, and faces and\nfeatures. It\u2019s important to mention that the exhibition has video clips and\nadditional information about the works and the topical nuclei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally,\nthe exhibition includes a variety of activities and workshops. For example,\nthere are interactive games in each room, which visitors can use to discover\nhow much they know about the history of Mexico by answering questions that\nallow them to tour the country from North to South and from Mesoamerica to the\nmodern day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are\nalso activities for children and school groups, including \u201cA Song for Mexico\u201d,\nwhere children aged 6 to 12 can tour the exhibition with song tracks that\ninvite them to think about what makes them feel proud about their country: or\nthe \u201cValues Lottery\u201d, where children can discover this traditional Mexican game\nwith works from the exhibition associated with values, make their own board and\nenjoy it with their fellow students and families, using them to influence their\ncommunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nExhibition 20 Centuries of Art in Mexico<\/em><\/strong> is presented\nin Room 5 of the Soumaya Museum-Plaza Carso<\/strong>, in Mexico City, open from\n10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Free entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forming\npart of the Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong>, the Soumaya Museum<\/strong> opened\nits doors to the public in 1994. It is a non-profit cultural institution that\nhas the vocation of collecting, researching, preserving, disseminating and\nexhibiting artistic testimonies mainly from Mexico and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
