The affinity of their goals, values and, above all, missions persuaded the Andrea Bocelli Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0(ABF<\/strong>) and the Carlos<\/strong>\u00a0Slim Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0to join forces.<\/p>\n

Through its student scholarship program and the development of on-line educational platforms, the\u00a0Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0provides millions of young Mexicans and Spanish-speakers in other countries the opportunity to develop their talents. These youth would not have the opportunity for access to education and professional training otherwise. Meanwhile, the mission that ABF has pursued since its beginning is very similar:\u00a0To offer every person and community in which it chooses to work the opportunity to develop their potential<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When they shared the experiences and learning from their respective projects,\u00a0ABF<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Carlos<\/strong>\u00a0Slim Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0decided to join forces\u00a0granting scholarships to study music at the Universidad Nacional Aut\u00f3noma de M\u00e9xico<\/strong>\u00a0(UNAM<\/strong>), in order to promote vocational and educational training with the shared vision both Foundations have of creating and cultivating talent.<\/p>\n

As part of the agreement between the two foundations, through\u00a0Aprende.org<\/strong>, the free on-line educational platform developed by the Carlos<\/strong>\u00a0Slim Foundation<\/strong>, the scope of the musical education programs that\u00a0ABF <\/strong>currently offers will be expanded and strengthened.<\/p>\n

This collaboration will also help to strengthen the ophthalmological surgery campaigns currently supported by the Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0will also support the work that the Andrea Bocelli Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0does in Hait\u00ed, to facilitate access to digital education for close to 3,000 students who attend the schools constructed by\u00a0ABF<\/strong>, together with its local partner St Luc Foundation<\/strong>, which are located in five of the most remote and poor communities of that nation.<\/p>\n

The affinity of goals between the two Foundations, which was recognized in 2017<\/strong>,\u00a0when Carlos Slim Hel\u00fa received the Andrea Bocelli Humanitarian Award<\/strong>, is consolidated today by establishing common work objectives.<\/p>\n

In the framework of the agreement between the two Institutions,\u00a0the Carlos Slim Foundation held a gala in recognition of Andrea Bocelli, founder of the ABF<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
