The Women Community Leaders<\/strong> (Mujeres L\u00edderes Comunitarias<\/em>) project of the Historic Center of Mexico City Foundation<\/strong> seeks to recognize those women within the area known as Las Pensiles who, thanks to their leadership, have managed to create positive change within their community.<\/p>\n

For the Historic Center of Mexico City Foundation<\/strong> and Live Pensil<\/strong> (Vive Pensil<\/em>) of Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong>, a female community leader is the woman who has a great capacity to share, managing and administering emotional and human resources within her community.<\/p>\n

The task of these female community leaders consists mainly in building bridges among the most urgent problems, concerns, wills, different points of view and resources for the improvement of the quality of life of the people who live in their community.<\/p>\n

However, for these women, the leadership has to do with the recognition of the community through “setting the example”, with the personal satisfaction of seeing how their effort and work is reflected in improvements in the quality of life of the people that live in their community.<\/p>\n

During 2018, five women were recognized as part of the Women Community Leaders<\/strong> project: Mar\u00eda del Consuelo \u00c1vila Campos, Gabriela Nieto S\u00e1nchez, Araceli Esparza Mart\u00ednez, Mar\u00eda del Carmen Cruz Due\u00f1as y Mar\u00eda Guadalupe Maceida.<\/p>\n

The Historic Center of Mexico City Foundation<\/strong> emerges as an essential complement to support the economic and social renaissance of the central area of Mexico City. Its work has obtained significant successes thanks to the constant work with the community and inter-institutional linkage.<\/p>\n

The establishment of strategic alliances and collaboration programs with public and private institutions such as Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong>, TELMEX Foundation<\/strong>, UNAM and the University of the Cloister of Sor Juana, among others, has been fundamental.<\/p>\n

The Historic Center of Mexico City Foundation<\/strong> considers that social, material and economic well-being is directly related to the human context in which it manifests. To achieve this well-being, the Foundation has the cultural, social, economic and community developments as its lines of action.<\/p>\n
