Get Trained for Employment<\/strong> (Capac\u00edtate para el Empleo)<\/em>, a platform developed by the Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong> through the telecommunications company Claro<\/strong>, held the first graduation ceremony for the graduates of the diplomas taught in Republica Dominicana.<\/p>\n

A group of 322 people, of the almost 1,000 who have completed the diploma courses in the Caribbean country, received their certificates endorsed by the Ministry of Public Education of Mexico<\/strong> (SEP, Secretar\u00eda de Educaci\u00f3n P\u00fablica<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Omar Acosta<\/strong>, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Claro<\/strong>, highlighted that Capac\u00edtate para el Empleo<\/em><\/strong> is a platform for free online education that offers technical-professional training in different productive sectors. Currently, it contains six Diploma programs focused on technology, such as Technical Development of websites and mobile applications, Big Data, Computer Systems, among others.<\/p>\n

This program was launched in the Dominican Republic in October 2015, with an academic offer of 37 courses; and today courses have grown to 250, as new educational content is continually being developed.<\/p>\n

Acosta said that Capac\u00edtate para el Empleo<\/em><\/strong> currently has 2.4 million registered users worldwide, and specifically in the Caribbean country there are nearly 800,000 registrations to courses and 245,000 users, which makes the Dominican Republic the second country of the region with grater use of the platform.<\/p>\n

“We are convinced that programs like this one become a social investment that proposes to improve the future of the future generations and contribute to the sustainable development of the country,” Acosta said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
