The State Plan for Climate Change<\/strong>, which received funding from Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong> and the Inter-American Development Bank<\/strong>, was presented in Oaxaca.<\/p>\n

This Plan will consolidate the Oaxaca as a resilient state in the face of the effects of climate change and will ensure the conservation of its ecological heritage, strategic infrastructure and cultural heritage, said Jos\u00e9 Luis Calvo Ziga<\/strong>, Minister of the Environment, Energy and Sustainable Development of the State of Oaxaca.<\/p>\n

During the presentation of the plan, attended by officials of the federal and state governments and members of the chamber of deputies, Calvo Ziga said that Oaxaca is considered one of the most vulnerable states to cope with the effects of climate change; and therefore, it is a priority to generate public policies to act accordingly.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that the formulation of this instrument involved civil society, the private sector and the academic world, through the Technical Committee, and the Interministerial Commission on Climate Change, integrated by the legal and expanded cabinets.<\/p>\n

He also stressed that this strategy was financed with resources from the Inter-American Development Bank<\/strong> and Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He said that the State Plan for Climate Change<\/strong> is a guiding instrument at the institutional level and its implementation is aligned with the State Development Plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong> has the vocation to help in the integral formation of people of all ages, in Mexico and Latin America, so that they can strengthen their abilities, skills and can be actively part of the economic and social development of the region, achieving more opportunities and a better quality of life.<\/p>\n

To do this, it works with academic institutions, governments and civil society organizations, so that its programs on education, health, employment, justice, migrants, road safety, human development, sports, environment, culture, humanitarian aid and economic development, benefit the greatest number of people, with special emphasis on the most vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
