The IV Ibero-American Patronage Awards<\/strong>, promoted by Callia Foundation<\/strong>, recognized the work of Baroness Thyssen<\/strong> and Mr. Carlos Slim<\/strong> in the conservation, promotion and dissemination of Ibero-American heritage and artistic talent.<\/p>\n

The gala, held at the Ritz Hotel<\/strong> in Madrid, was attended by more than two hundred personalities from the business and cultural worlds such as: businessman Carlos Slim<\/strong>; Baroness Thyssen<\/strong>; businesswoman Ingrid Yrivarren<\/strong>; businesswoman Esther Koplovitz;<\/strong> the CEO of Ivorypress, Elena Ochoa Foster<\/strong>; the director of the P\u00e9rez Art Museum Miami<\/strong> (PAMM), Jorge P\u00e9rez<\/strong>; the Deputy CEO of Citibanamex, Rodrigo Zorrilla<\/strong>; the businessman Valent\u00edn Diez Morodo<\/strong>; among others. The ceremony has been sponsored by: Citi Private Bank, Chevez Abogados, Casa de M\u00e9xico and Iberia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the words of Carmen Reviriego<\/strong>, president of Callia Foundation<\/strong> and promoter of the awards: “With the IV Ibero-American Patronage Awards<\/strong> we have managed to highlight the figure of the patron, now more relevant than ever. Carlos Slim and Baroness Thyssen are a faithful reflection of how their work as patrons he transcends through art. With their example, they inspire all those present at this ceremony and value art as a tool for social transformation.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The Ibero-American Patronage Awards<\/strong> have recognized the commitment and career of businessman Carlos Slim<\/strong> for his social commitment to art, since he brings, through Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong> (FCS), culture closer to society as a whole. The clear example is the Soumaya Museum<\/strong> created by the foundation with the vocation of collecting, researching, conserving, disseminating and exhibiting artistic testimonies from Mexico and Europe in a meeting space that motivates reflection and dialogue in the Latin American cultural scenery.<\/p>\n

The Ibero-American Patronage Awards<\/strong> have been consolidated, after four editions, as an incubator for great patrons in which the winners inspire all those present at the ceremony through their example. In addition, they promote equality in art and emerging talent, since each year a work created by a female artist is awarded as the prize. In this edition, the winners have been recognized with a work by photographer Magdalena Correa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The jury is made up of leading personalities in the artistic and cultural field such as: Konrad O. Bernheimer<\/strong>, President of the Fine Arts Section of TEFAF; Miguel Falomir,<\/strong> Director of the Prado Museum; Carmen Iglesias<\/strong>, president of the Royal Academy of History; Gabriela Ortiz de Garza<\/strong>, president of the Council of Friends of the Palace of Fine Arts of Mexico; Carmen Posadas<\/strong>, writer and winner of the National Literature Prize; Carmen Reviriego<\/strong> as president of Callia Transcend through art; and Guillermo Solana<\/strong>, Director of the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum.<\/strong><\/p>\n
