{"id":11879,"date":"2018-02-20T12:39:47","date_gmt":"2018-02-20T18:39:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fundacioncarlosslim.org\/english\/?p=11879"},"modified":"2018-03-08T13:10:43","modified_gmt":"2018-03-08T19:10:43","slug":"carlos-slim-foundation-federal-police-come-together-prevent-road-accidents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fundacioncarlosslim.org\/english\/carlos-slim-foundation-federal-police-come-together-prevent-road-accidents\/","title":{"rendered":"Carlos Slim Foundation and the Federal Police come together to prevent road accidents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Carlos Slim Foundation<\/strong> and the <strong>Federal Police<\/strong> have signed a collaboration agreement to carry out actions for vehicle accident prevention, through the joint development of road safety strategies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manelich Castilla Craviotto,<\/strong> <strong>Commissioner General of the Federal Police,<\/strong> said the name of the campaign will be<strong> \u2018Star Driver\u2019<\/strong> (Conductor Estrella), and aims to disseminate preventive measures in social networks, in addition to performing various recreational activities.<\/p>\n<p>Castilla Craviotto also stressed the importance of generating these preventive actions, since during 2017 11,883 automobile accidents occurred in the highways and roads administered federally.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fundacioncarlosslim.org\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/114420-.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11931\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fundacioncarlosslim.org\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/114420-.jpg 640w, https:\/\/fundacioncarlosslim.org\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/114420--533x400.jpg 533w, https:\/\/fundacioncarlosslim.org\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/114420--250x188.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Javier Antonio Elguea Sol\u00eds<\/strong>, Director of the <strong>Education Program at Carlos Slim Fundation<\/strong>, stressed that the toll of traffic accidents can be reduced with a road safety campaign that reaches all Mexicans, including pedestrians.<\/p>\n<p>In the first stage of the <strong>\u2018Star Driver\u2019<\/strong> program, people are invited to carry out a review of their car&#8217;s brake system, before going on a road trip. <iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rBRET6KcUM4\" width=\"854\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Drivers for Road Safety\u2019<\/strong> (Pilotos por la Seguridad Vial) is an initiative that adds the efforts of the <strong>Federal Government through the Ministry of Health, and the International Automobile Federation<\/strong> (FIA) <strong>Mexico, the National Autonomous University of Mexico<\/strong> (UNAM), <strong>the Center for Experimentation and Road Safety<\/strong> (CESVI) <strong>Mexico, the Mexican Red Cross, the Mexican Association of Insurance Institutions<\/strong> (AMIS), <strong>Fox Sports, Telethon Foundation, Carlos Slim Foundation and Escuderia TELMEX-TELCEL<\/strong>, as well as other public and private institutions. This program aims to create a road culture that saves thousands of lives.<\/p>\n<p>Through the permanent campaign, professional Mexican drivers go all over the country promoting an ethical and preventive road culture among young people to be responsible drivers, pedestrians and passengers.<\/p>\n<p>So far, 489 lectures have been given to 116,802 students from 261 high schools and higher education institutions throughout the country, as well as young people who have attended to mass public events.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Carlos Slim Foundation and the Federal Police have signed a collaboration agreement to carry out actions for vehicle accident prevention, through the joint development of road safety strategies.
