Doctors at the Civil Hospitals of Guadalajara receive scholarships from Carlos Slim Foundation

In order to promote research for the benefit of health, medical residents of the Civil Hospitals of Guadalajara received scholarships from Carlos Slim Foundation.

In total, Carlos Slim Foundation awarded 110 scholarships, in order to support for young researchers that develop projects under the tutelage of outstanding health professionals.
To be eligible for one of these scholarships, physicians had to present an innovative research with high standards of scientific rigor.

Almost 20% of the total scholarships awarded corresponded to research works of medical residents at the Civil Hospitals of Guadalajara.

The works that earn a scholarship include research in areas such as Medical Genetics, Laparoscopic Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Pediatric Surgery, Hemodynamics and Interventional Cardiology, Traumatology and Orthopedics.

As part of the scholarships awarded by Carlos Slim Foundation, the benefited doctors will receive monthly academic stimuli, as well as supplies that facilitate their academic work, such as printers and iPads.
