Carlos Slim Foundation, SCJN and UNAM renew Law Scholarship program
Carlos Slim Foundation, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) renewed their scholarship program for the benefit of students of academic excellence from the UNAM’s Faculty of Law.
This initiative will benefit up to 100 law students, which will complement a scholarship program launched last year as part of the celebration of the centennial of the Mexican Constitution of 1917.
Carlos Slim Helú, president of the Carlos Slim Foundation, stressed the need for contributing to human capital formation with the highest standards.
“Human capital is one of the most urgent needs in order to take the country towards a better destination, towards sustained and sustainable development,” said Slim Helú.
Carlos Slim Foundation has the endeavour of helping improving the formation of people of all ages, in Mexico and Latin America. The objective is that they can strengthen their abilities and skills, so they can be actively inserted in the economic and social development of their countries, achieving more opportunities and a better quality of life.
To do this, the Foundation works with academic institutions, governments and civil society organizations; so that its programs on education, health, employment, justice, migrants, road safety, human development, sports, environment, culture, humanitarian aid, and economic development benefit the greatest number of people, with special emphasis on the most vulnerable groups.
