Category 1. The Carlos Slim Award for Life Achievement in Research

The Health Prize for Life Achievement in Research seeks to create a close link between research and the generation of solutions to the problems faced by the population of Latin America and the Caribbean.

REQUIREMENTS

The nomination must be submitted by a third party. Self-nomination is cause for rejection of the application

When submitting the nomination, the nominator must ensure that in case of being awarded its nominee, will accept the award and the commitment to stay in touch with the Carlos Slim Health Institute.

The nominee must be a native or permanent resident of one of the countries of Latin America and/or the Caribbean.

Demonstrable professional experience of at least 15 years in the field of health research

The research and / or field must have had an impact on at least one of the countries of Latin America and / or the Caribbean.

Having a wealth of high level publications in terms of quality, internationally and impact factor of journals.

Quantification of the population benefited from the findings of the investigations (of which you must choose an example to describe in detail).

Three attach letters of endorsement of prestigious colleagues and recognized in the field (other than the nominator), in which it outlines how the nominee's work has contributed to the welfare of the population in Latin America and the Caribbean. The letters must be submitted scanned and in pdf format.

Category 2. The Carlos Slim Award for Outstanding Institution

The Health Prize for Outstanding Institution aims to recognize successful programs in terms of improving the health of the population of the region. The recognition seeks to promote the implementation, replication and diffusion of successful programs for the benefit of the population of Latin America.

REQUIREMENTS

The nomination of the institution, must be performed by a member of its Board of Directors, board of Trustees or Patronage.

Have demonstrable antiquity of at least 10 years of operation in the field of health.

Be public or private non-profit institutions, legally constituted in any of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Have documented specific cases of how their work or program in question has benefited the people of at least one country in the region.

Three letters of endorsement from individuals or institutions of recognized standing and alien to the institution in the field in which specific cases of the profit generated by the institution are exposed.
